Troubleshooting Tool - Event Viewer

Troubleshooters can refer to the Event Viewer to review messages from events that have occurred on a computer. This is an important feature for troubleshooters to determine the historical events for the computer in question. The ApplicationSecurity, and System logs are always present and additional logs such as the DNS Server log are only present when the supporting service is installed.  Normal application programs can be programmed to write directly to the Application log. The Security log is used by the audit system.

Each log file can be configured for size and overwrite options.
